HAZARD’S EQUALISER ENDS TOTTENHAM’S TITLE HOPES

Tottenham were out to make a statement yesterday when they tried to ridicule Chelsea in front of their home crowd. With 2 goals coming in the first half from striker, Harry Kane, in the 35th minute, and Son Heung-Min, in the 44th minute, Tottenham was well on their way to securing a much needed 3 points.

However, at the turn of the second half, Chelsea grasped a lifeline in the 58th minute from a Willian’s corner kick which Spurs midfielder Eric Dier failed to clear, leaving Gary Cahill to finish it off by striking at the bottom left corner of the post. That goal changed events as the home team continually mounted pressure on the visitors and with just 7 minutes to the end of full time, Eden Hazard broke the hearts of Spurs’ supporters after he scored his 3rd goal of the season from an assist from Diego Costa.

Tottenham would have wanted more from this game but, unfortunately, had to settle for a draw. They would have to wait for the next year's BPL campaign to have another shot at the title.

On the other side, Leicester was in all joys as they emerged winners of the 2015/16 EPL for the first time. They will be officially crowned winners after their home game with Everton on Saturday, 7th May.

Leicester is now Champion of England. Congratulations
