Bill Cosby goes blind

The 79 year old American comedian, actor, singer and songwriter, who is popularly known for the TV series Bill Cosby Show, has a deteriorating eye condition called Keratoconus which has left him blind according to reports. Keratoconus (KC) is a deteriorating eye disorder in which the cornea thins out and becomes more conical (bulging) than the normal gradual curve. This results in distortion of vision, seeing multiple images when exposed to high contrasting light, streaking among other things.

Bill who has been accused many times of rape and other forms of sexual abuses has a pending case in his favour. The judge has permitted him to sue one of his accusers Andrea Constand for breaching an agreement she made with Bill during their settlement in 2006.

At the moment he is confined to his house at Pennsylvania with his wife Camille.

Five (5) Individuals Who did the Unthinkable Just To Cheat Death

Someday, death will come knocking on one's door. Many believe that when that time comes there is virtually nothing one can do except by divine providence of course. However, some individuals have proven that such a time may not necessarily be the last. They proved that a little effort could be the difference between leaving this world now or living for many more years to come. Read the stories of daring individuals who refused to succumb to death. Instead they did the unthinkable in order to survive.

1. Leonid Ivanovich Rogozov
Leonid was born in Russia on March 14, 1934. He studied to be a general medical practitioner in 1959 and later trained to be a surgeon but had to interrupt his training to join the sixth Soviet Antarctic Expedition as a doctor in 1960. While he was there he fell ill and was diagnosed of Peritonitis in 1961. Being that the research station was quite far from the nearest one by more than 1,600km [that is like travelling from Lagos to Maduiguri] and there was no aircraft in that station neither was there any that could fly in as a result of bad weather conditions; Leonid had no choice but to do the impossible. He operated on himself [Abdominal self-surgery is a very rare form of surgery]. He was assisted by a driver and a meteorologist who helped with handing him instruments and holding a mirror. The surgery lasted almost 2 hours with him having short breaks in between; and two weeks after his self-surgery he was back to his regular duties. He lived to 66 years.

Before You Walk Down The Aisle Consider This

It is virtually the wish of every man or woman to finally settle down with the love of their life. Marriage ought to be sweet unfortunately it ends up being sour for some; a number that seems to be growing by the day. In this post, we will look at some things to consider before embarking on this journey.

A. Interested in the Wedding OR Marriage?

There is a huge difference between wedding and marriage and this difference seems not to be grasped by many. While wedding involves weeks or months of preparations and planning that eventually culminates in a day, marriage on the other hand is a life-long activity that equally needs preparation and planning. Truth is that people tend to spend so much attention on a day's event believing that things will fall in place after the wedding. Marriage requires lots of planning, preparation, time and dedication to make it work. Not all expensive weddings fail neither do very cheap weddings succeed. So it is not really a question of "how much was spent for the wedding?" It is about YOU and your determination to make it work.

World Weirdest Creatures Saturday

When you thought you have seen it all; you just haven't seen anything yet. Now for a weekend of more mysteries. Read the top five weird creatures this weekend.

1. Vampire Crabs:

Definitely not blood suckers like their names imply, these crabs have yellow eyes that glow. They have been around for quite sometime serving mainly as pets but their origin was not known till now. Their source can be traced to an Indonesian Island called Java. Unlike regular crabs you know, this specie is quite small, measuring less than an inch wide. Its like carrying a coin on one of your fingers. Their colours help them to communicate with their kind. Wouldn't you like to have them as PETS?

The Sixth Bond Daniel Craig

Daniel Wroughton Craig was born on March 2, 1968 in Chester, Cheshire, England. He is the current actor to play the role of British Secret agent 007, James Bond. His mother was an art teacher while his father was a landlord of the pubs Ring O' Bells and a Boot Inn.

He started acting in school plays at age 6 and at 16 years old he was admitted into the National Youth Theatre and later accepted into the Guildhall school of music and drama. Craig's first screen role was in The Power of One (1992). He starred with Angelie Jolie in the movie Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2011). He also featured in a number of dramas and movies prior to his Bond debut. Some of the movies include: Sword of Honour (2001), Road to Perdition (2002), The Mother (2003) among others.

The role of James Bond was contracted to Daniel Craig in 2005 by Eon productions. This makes Daniel Craig to be the first actor to portray as Bond after the Bond series started and after the death of the novel's writer Ian Fleming.

His selection for the role was met with lots of controversy though. Protesters felt the producers had not made the right choice as he (Craig) did not fit the tall, dark Bond being portrayed by previous Bond actors and even threatened to boycott the film in protest. Craig is just 5ft 10" tall making him the shortest Bond previously held by Roger Moore (6.06ft or 185cm) while Sean Connery is the tallest at 189cm or 6.2ft. Despite the protests, Craig got support from all the previous actors to portray same role.

GETTING THE RIGHT MARKETING MIX EVEN WITH A TIGHT BUDGET

Everyone wants to get his or her products or services out there to the public but many do not have what it takes to start or sustain it due to a tight budget. The good thing is that with the emergence of online marketing you now have cheaper ways of achieving your goals. This post is mainly for those who are still new or fairly new to the world of online marketing. Let me start with a brief of what online marketing really is.

Prior to the 21st century we knew of newspapers & magazines, fliers, billboards, posters, TVs, radios and many other channels we used to know back then. We refer to these channels as ‘offline’ channels and the marketing type as ‘traditional’ marketing or offline marketing. Traditional or offline marketing simply refers to every marketing effort that does not involve the use of the internet whereas online marketing is purely about the internet. Another feature of this form of marketing is that it relies much on the human senses of sight, touch, hearing, tasting and smelling. A commercial on the radio appeals to the ears; a TV Ad appeals to both the eyes and the ears; a local seller of Air fresheners appeals to the eyes, ear, touch and smell and so on.
